I just unpacked the ZX-81 kit from Zebra Systems, Inc. While the box was a bit dingy and jammed full of that annoying popcorn packing stuff, I must say I'm delighted by the contents. Inside I found: 1. The ZX-81 kit box, in not-quite-perfect but still off-the-shelf condition. It's a Sinclair box, with the UK address -- what I was hoping for. 2. The big power supply brick. 3. Photocopied assembly instructions. Not original, but a lot of stuff came that way back then, so who knows? 4. Two BookWare books: "Basics of Timex Sinclair 1500/1000 BASIC" and "BASIC Basics for the Timex Sinclair 1500/1000", both in pristine condition. 5. A 16K memory upgrade that I didn't order and that wasn't on the invoice. It's a MEMOTECH unit -- the whole width of the ZX-81, pre-assembled. My invoice shows $59.95, including shipping. For anyone considering an order from Zebra for one of these hard-to-find gems, I'd do it quick! I was an Apple ][ bigot back in the days this thing was manufactured, but it's still a kick to pull something new out of a box from that era! - Bob To unsubscribe from SURVPC send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with unsubscribe SURVPC in the body of the message.
