By similar reasoning, I think the residents of the Town of La Plata,
Maryland, USA, should check with what the Spanish pronunciation is,
because that's where the name of their community comes from.  Let's
all put on our academic caps and gowns and take a trip to La Plata,
Maryland, to educate all of the citizens there on the proper pronunciation
of the name of their town.  Let's show them just how smart we are! <vbg>
