Yesturday I visited a friend in another city, who is also very active
in political centers ran by teenagers (the ones that support the
actuall political parties by hanging all the signs in elections and
etc'.). While talking about computers, she mentioned that they do not
have any computer in their place, except for some "ancient looking
Macintosh that we cant use.". Since I like to collect SurvPCs
(and making them run), this ofcourse cought my attention immidiatly.
Macs, especialy OLD macs are very hard to find in Israel, where the PC
has always been the dominating market.

She said that they will not have a problem to get rid of it, though they
will probebly want something back. I offered maybe giving away one of
the old 386s/486s that I had (which were, ofcourse, fully functional
with freeware/shareware software loaded on them), but they need something
that can run Word and Excell. (the 2 dominating Office utilities in
Israel.). I think that these programs need something like a P133
minimum to start up in a reasonable speed.. what do you think?

Which kind of a computer will be enough for a vanila Win95 with
Word 97 and Excell 97? (Cant use something older. Only the Windows
versions support hebrew, and I need "the latest" except for 2000 so
that they can read most of the .DOC and .XLS files, which are created
on 97.)

In another option: how much would you think I should pay for the Mac,
in case that we will decide to exchange using money instead?
