Hello Karen:

Get HLIST.  I believe it is available from a link on John Lewis's page:

http://members/kingston.net/lewis

HLIST is an off-line viewer that renders HTML pages like a text-only browser.
Also HLIST has an editing function.  Runs very fast and renders the text
very nicely.  HLIST is *not* designed as an on-line browser, but for off-line
viewing it works just great.
