I worked for an outfit that did a variety of of educational systems,
including a take-home program back in the days of the Apple II. The tech's
had a number of horror stories about things they'd find in these computers
when they had to the the twice-yearly PM checks. Bugs, soda cans and condoms
(not new) were among the most common.

My favorite was one tech who was famous for hauling all the systems in their
custom-fitted nylon cases into an enclosed room, unzipping the cases and
lobbing in several bug-bombs before even starting to work on them.
Apparently, you could shake them and dead roaches would come falling out.
