In the late 1980's we sold a few of the Mannesmann Tally 24-pin
printers. They were expensive, heavy-duty, high-volume mutiple-pin
printers which had excellent docs and were very reliable.
<begin rant>
The USA company couldn't market there way out of wet paper bag.
There brochures were just plain UGLY!
There trade industry ads were dumb.
The national sales manager had been with Epson and new what he was
doing. He got tired of the stupid top-level management in the USA
organization and went on to make other folks a lot of money.
Unfortunate example of having excellent technology and LOUSY
MARKETING!!! The opposite of Microshaft.
