For MD5/ChemSum's --- I'm wondering if there is a program that will check a group of files and compare what it found (silently, preferable, or pipe-able to NUL) to a file...most require me to write it to a file, then compare that file to another, which is slightly inconvenient especially with a write-protected boot disk (wanting to not rely on the hard disk to do it).
Another question is; are there any disk-caching utilities that are about as good as smartdrv, only dont take up so much damn memory? (30k, geez, heh) --- i found PC-Cache and ADCache, but they dont even seem to make a difference, can you recommend command line options for em? Or other tools?
