I expect it's no surprise to anyone: There's a Big Megacorporation out there
that's pretty well cornered the market. You see, they're a ruthless lot and
have driven competitors out of business, acquired innovation that they felt
was threatening, and "enhanced" open standards to the point of making them
proprietary. They offer overpriced products with largely unused features,
and usually lag behind the curve of innovation -- until they gobble up the
promising ones. They're already one of the largest corporations in the
world. The entire market shudders when they make a move. The already control
the flow of information in most major corporations, across the Internet and
throughout the world.

You see, just like in nature, a predator can become too good. Too big. Too
efficent at killing off all competitors. Even in your own garden, one
species -- left unchecked -- will often strangle out all others.

Unfortunately, the drooling idiots who use these products daily have no idea
of how they operate. They insist on blindly using them, without ever asking
if alternatives are available. Nor do they seek out alternatives. Like sheep
the just keep using them, buying them for their companies and homes, and
ever feeding the evil giant. Do these sheep-like fools even ask if a product
or service uses product of the evil ones? Do they even think to walk away?
To boycott all those who use the products of the Enslavers? Hardly.

Lucky for us though, an intrepid band of rebels have had enough! They've
developed software and techniques to disrupt systems based on these products
and are making every effort to ensure that the nasty giant is troubled and
frustrated at every turn. So what do you think of our rebels -- those who
would disrupt the activities of the giant's slaves? Who would enlighten them
as to their drooling and unenlightened ways? While we may not condone their
methods, surely those who will suffer deserve it. Surely we should laugh at
their misfortune and ignorance!

So I'm curious: What're YOU going to do when someone drops every Cisco
router in your ISPs network, their upstream and peer provider's network and
possibly even the device you use to connect from your very desktop. Hmmm? No
more web! No more e-mail!

Oooh. That one hurt ME! Ow!
