For me it's been first Mp3's that drove my upgrade, then virtual reality
took it further. I love Active Worlds and the interface software is sadly
only available for mainstream, IE M$. Not only do you need a strong
machine for the OS and AWbrowser, but the worlds are full of complex
objects so in order to move freely about them you need a pretty strong
machine. Still, I think it's worth it, I love wandering through fantasy
worlds, occasionally encountering other netizens. I love the amusement
rides in there too. After a long session of exploring, RL seems like a
really good quality VR world!
BTW, both computer probs cleared up in the same night. Whew, it's good to
be back.
