Common misconceptions, yes...  but probably correct.

See?  Being a cracker is not so bad, the only drawback is
that you are edible!  We can eat you! :-)

Anyway, *currently* the term "hacker" commonly associated
to "criminal hacker".  IMHO, (your) "cracker" is best if
described as the long form "criminal hacker".  This is
to avoid confusion, since most people *always* associated
"cracker" as biscuit.

Try yourself, ask your neightbors: "What is a cracker?" ;)
