I doubt it would be as effective now, but it was a terrifically funny show
at the time, I was quite fond of it.  The fellow who played the hapless
Gilligan was a physical comedy genius, energetic and flexible and very
talented.  The supporting cast was also extremely effective at their jobs,
portraying 2 dimensional characters well enough that they almost seemed 3
dimensional, even though they had to remain comedy archetypes.
