Hi Folks!

If anyone is interested in the DOS version of MS Word 5.5, the "free"
upgrade, I've included the link for it. Although not able to directly read
Windows Word formats, you may be able to sift through the formatting, fonts
etc and see the actual text. You might be able to use Word Viewer to
convert a DOC to plain TXT also, then use Word for DOS to read it, use in
your documents, etc.
The link to the web page for MS Word 5.5 for DOS is:

Update Click Here or if not using HTML email go to

http://officeupdate.microsoft.com/downloadCatalog/dldWord.asp

Look about 2/3 the way down the page, in the Word/Office 97 section. It is a
self-extracting EXE file, a bit over 3.5 mBytes, run exe to extract it, then
run SETUP to install. Both US and International English versions available.
Hope this helps!
