I also own a Toshiba notebook PC (a 2535 CDS), and it came with a
PCMCIA modem that can operate within any of three operating systems
I have installed on it:  Win98, Red Hat Linux and PC DOS 2000.  It
runs just fine under PC DOS 2000 -- there's plenty of help in the
PC DOS manual for setting it up.
