Oh lets do stop this nonsense. All humans are unique creatures and culture
has a lot more to do with the stereo types than DNA fer cryin' out
loud. Dresses, really! You had better be joking, buddy. Sheesh, tell
that to my friend shannon today while she sat in the engine space of her
new truck replacing the valve gaskets!! Or Ruby who's husband wayne gets
her to do the fussy stuff on the car because she has the patience for it,
or ME when I'm changing my spark plugs! I can tell you too I've known not
a few men with heads obsessed with their clothes and hair and
appearance. In fact, my fiance worries about getting dirt under his nails
more than the state of his car and I have to do the maintenance! Such
idiocy! Roles assigned by mother nature indeed! Lets see how you feel when
your wife won't let you tuck your child into bed because men aren't good
nurturers, or won't let you play in the kitchen because it's a woman's
domain! It's not gender, it's culture.
Talk about off topic, but I CAN'T let such stereotyping against me and my
friends go ignored, it's like ignoring it when someone says all africans
are better athletes and cannot use computers because their minds aren't
tuned to intellectual pursuits, or that all Irish are drunks, it's just
wrong. Each human deserves the opportunity to stretch to our fullest
potential regardless of cultural stereotypes and you strangle your children
with attitudes like that.
Oh, don't forget Madame Curie who gave us all the benefit of penicillin,
studying science in a time when it was illegal for females to study past
grammar school.
