There is another possible answer.  The geek would be one who'd walk
into a room and actually insist on hanging a straight painting crooked,
because he felt the artist was trying to get us to look at his art
work at a peculiar angle (after a lengthy, specious argument on the
geometry of the painting) -- and, yes, he'd definitely curse the
inventor of the nail, but only because of his belief that paintings
were "originally" hung from wires suspended from a strip of trim a
foot or two from the top of the wall, and some idiotic hardware
vendor tried to increase his profits by suggesting that nails could
have "artistic applications"... ;-)
