Hello, I have just gotten out of my A+ training class, and although I haven't gone for my CERT yet, I may be able to help you... >From what I have learned in school, (and also from an old IBM PS/1 486 that I just trashed...) 486's can't go above 64MB of RAM. My PS/1 stated this, but only had 2 one-sided SIMM slots (Could only use chips that reside on ONE side of the SIMM Module). I also tried 'overloading' the board with about 64-80MB of RAM once, and when I reloaded WIN98, it kicked me out with one of two errors: WIN.COM has caused a STACK FAULT DUMP at memory address: XXxxx:xxxXX Windows PROTECTION ERROR Called from Line: XXXxxx:xxxXX Note the X's were number-letter combo's which I can't remember or decipher, but I have a clue that this means that 486's can't address more than 64MB (at least not IBM's PS/1!) Hope this helps! Nick [EMAIL PROTECTED] _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
