It really depends what you want to do. If you have some sort of PPP daemon
for DOS, it might be possible to network you Palm to the outside world via
the serial port -- so the answer _could_ be 'yes'. However, if you want to
actually synchronize with software running under DOS, some sort of
synchronization software to replace HotSync, as well as conduits for the
respective programs would be required. To the best of my knowledge, no such
conduits exist for DOS.

You may find that plugging the Palm directly into a modem provides a partial
solution. That way, you could at least backup to the Internet, sync with
various online calendars, and make use of programs like AvantGo. I'd be
happy to share details, but I suspect we're getting a bit off-topic for the
list (though an 8MB Palm is certainly low-resource! :)
