As my soundcard just stopped working I got a soundcard from Creative labs.
It is the model CT 4810, also called Vibra 128.
Much to my surprise, the card was installed without problems in Linux but
for DOS it was a no go. The cd rom which belongs to the card only has an
installation for all sorts of Windows but nothing which resembles useful
for DOS.
There are though some exe files which seem to let the card work in a DOS box
in windows but they just say that it does not find the PCI address of the
card.
I have already heard that Creative labs is not very customer friendly so I
was not surprised not to get any help from their web pages.
But I hope that somebody on the list can give me help with the setup of the
card. My Pentium II with 400mHz machine is Windows free and I want to keep
it that way ;-)
