I can think of a few...
Run DEBUG, and modify the system variables in block 40:0...
But I wouldn't recommend it unless you really, REALLY know what you are
doing - the MODE command will do it for you safely, and much more easily.
Most communications programs (such as the shareware PROCOMM from
Datastorm Technologies, or TELIX) should have the ability to easily
modify COM port settings.
You can even do it with Windows 3.11. Go to Main > Control Panel > Ports.
