Hello:

My OS is Caldera DR-DOS version 7.02

In my AUTOEXEC.BAT I had a line that resulted in the return of the error
message "Command or filename unrecognized", even though the line was
preceded by a REM. Here is the line that resulted in the error:

REM unload: SHSUCDX [-u|/u]

I had inserted the line for the purpose of providing for myself a
simple instructive note on how to unload a CDROM driver which I had
loaded in a preceding line. Of course I was able to solve the problem
simply by deleting the line shown above.

I still do not understand why I should have gotten the error message.
The line was preceded by a REM. DOS should have therefore simply
ignored whatever followed in that line.

Can anyone offer an explanation as to why I got the error message?

All the best,

Sam Heywood
