I encounterd a new, to me, dos mail transport program that has advantages over Alfredo Cole's smtpop: http://zipper.paco.net/~yury/FREEDOS/fdsmtpop021.zip fdsmtpop will send/receive messages to one or more smtp or pop servers, and has various options such as kill or do not kill messages on server, after you download. It advantage to me, is the feedback it provides: You can select from about 10 levels of verbosity, all the way from nothing prints on your screen, to showing on the screen each negotiation between client and server, for each message, include sending the text. It also has usable error levels, and saves a log of its activities, if you enable it. The messages to the screen, stay on the screen, until you reach 25 lines, etc. and they can be redirected to a file if desired. Seems to work fast and fine for me, and I dearly like seeing the tranactions on screen, so I can know better which messages actually got accepted by the server, or downloaded.
