Having a cdrom drive which I irregularly use I found out that the light does
not kept blinking if a cdrom is inserted and that the cdrom drive cannot be
accessed. Neither in Dos (Drdos 7.03) nor in my Linux.
Before I start dismantling my computer I would like to know from the list
if it could be that the mechanism is dirty and I should use a cleaning
disk. I had a cleaning disk on which I also could check my loudspeakers.
I had to buy a new cleaning disk and the cdrom drive did not start that disk
so I gave it away. What kind of cleaning should I do. Disc, by hand or ...
opening the drive? Any ideas?
