Hello Everyone,
My grandmother has a brand new e-machines 600mhz Tower. She is 75 years
old.... born in 1925! Absolutely nothing about Windows is intuitive for
her, actually nothing about computers in general is intuitive for her!
This is actually not her only computer as she has a 486 running DOS too,
but that is mainly for her business. Since it is DOS it is a little
more rigid in function, and written instructions help her through.
Windows, However, is just too much for her. It presents too many
options that she can't make heads or tails of. Plus she doesn't use the
mouse very well.... it's like watching an American trying to eat with
chop sticks!
She has Windows ME, that doesn't seems to rely on Real Jukebox for audio
cds. Can someone recommend a very simple cd player for Windows? Right
now, the computer is setup to play a cd upon insertion, but I would like
to give her a simple cd player that will give her some control, like
stop, pause, etc, so if the phone rings, or someone comes to the door,
she can easily and safely pause the cd, instead of hitting the power
button, or knocking the speakers off the back of the desk, while trying
to turn the volume off. My uncle just sent her a whole box of music he
burned to cd-r for her, so she has lots that she will be listening too.
She uses Juno for email, and as simple as Juno is, she barley uses any
of its features.
