Something some of us were talking about in the runup to Y2K...

Spread Spectrum Phased Array Repeater Network

Spread Spectrum has the transmitter continually change the frequency
of operation concurrenty working out with the remote receiver, which
also has a transmitter, what freq to use next. The reveiver is not
tuned to a particular frequency so much as it listens for a series of
tones on a series of frequencies. IOW, a melody. The permutations are
so vast that billions of unique melodies are no problem. there is one
for each of us on the planet; your own song.

Phased Array is a printed circuit spiral a meter or more across laid
out on a non conductive substrate like fibreglass or glass, which can
be mounted on a pole outside. When transmitting the phase of the
sin wave is shifted slightly, with the result that the signal can be
beamed out in any given direction electronically, and instantly
changed in direction. It can receive in the same fashion. talk and
listen to anyone in any direction who has similar equipment without
any long distance TELCO charges or ISP connection charges.

Each home system can be setup to also be a signal repeater to relay
and extend the range of your, and everyone else's signal.

Like computer hardware, the cost of equipment is falling. All of the
above could be controlled by a DSP board in an ISA 16 bit slot prolly
costing less than 50$. the transmitter/receiver/antenna stuff for up
to 100 watts and good for 100 miles would total maybe 200$

The bandwidth is available in assigned, but unused TV channels that
never will be used because of cable and satellite dishes. The FCC
regulations dont permit it, but for one, they gotta figure out you
are there, and with spread spectrum (SS), that aint easy. SS was
developed by the army so nobody else would know they were talking.
even if they do, all they can do is seize equipment.

You dont hear about this, cause the commercial media (TV) dont want
you to think about it. You wouldnt need telephone service nor an ISP,
nor havta put up with spam. That'd make a lotta investors unhappy.

User owned systems are not plagued with planned obsolesence.
uncopywritten- do what you will with it.
