Installing windows 98 is very simple. Boot to the floppy, wait until it is
finished spitting out text all over the screen and watch for what drive it
says is the CDrom drive. It will be one letter past the usual letter. For
example, if the CD is normally D: it will be E: for this exercise. The
boot dixk creates a temporary virtual drive in RAM and this pushes the cd
drive letter over one. It will be gone later and your cdrom will be it's
regular letter again.
When it's done spitting text and sitting quietly at a:> type the cd rom
drive letter (we'll assume here that it's e:) and the command for setup.
eg: a:>E:\setup
this will begin the setup process. Follow along with the questions,
reading them carefully so you know what it is asking you, and you will do
just fine.
If the setup hangs, restart the machine without the boot floppy but leaving
the cd in the drive, and it will detect the spot where the problem occurred
and skip over it to continue the installation.
