Greeting from northern Alberta Finally the fix for my Stoned Monkey devastated computer arrived. Thinking we would 'get ahead' we got RedHat Linux 7.1 plus Bible. On the computer is Win 98 and 15 G of space. I have Partition Magic w/ boot magic. We looked at the 'bible', the redhat website, and the cd. To tell the truth, i was both dismayed and outraged. All i want to do is make a simple partition, and install linux as a simple user who will set up a small network at home to share printer with my mac. Please help and refer me to someplace where there is a simple step by step proceedure of how to install Linux 7.1. To tell the truth if we did not live 250 miles from the Big City, i would return this and get the Mandrake Edition - just on general principles. Our plans involve setting up the home system and then transfering our knowledge to the High Prairie Native Friendship Center. They are in desparate need of a print / secure network system.
