It will do 50 line screens, but I'm not sure about the ANSI stuff as I never did experiment much with that stuff. >I'm also looking into writing a batch that can call up >a string search to insert the appropriate color code >before every letter so that the INT 10 AX=9 subroutine, >char/attr can be used to display digital book pages. > >Be nice to find a text editor that would output binary >copies of a text file. > >will it handle book length files? 1meg= 400 pg book. >Will it paginate text in 2 column screen pages? I'm sure it will handle the large files, and I'm also sure it will do the 2 column screen pages. Textra has a nice WYSIWYG preview that allows you to see what the printed page will look like, very nice software indeed. It was put out by the now defunct Ann Arbor Software but later had some connection with Symantec. The copy I have is a full copy, but it was time limited. They ended up going out of business before I actually had a chance to get a full copy of it, but I managed to hack my copy so that it would work beyond the date it was supposed to expire. >Sat, 14 Jul 2001 21:18:26 +0000 Heimo Claasen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: >Both right, said the Rabbi. > >Most of the plethora is plainly bad written in terms of what one would >expect from any manuals or the like. > >Any HOWTO for a car done in the style of most of them would get a >driver trusting it go full throttle into reverse at the first red >traffic light. > >There are (few) good exceptions but almost each and any of those >writings suffer from "specialised idiocy"; after having seen so much, >and too much of that, I really believe it must be part of "a culture" >- the one of bad writing.
