PC mag supplied a clue. the browser bloat is not from the
browser per se, the all the errorchecking the browser needs
to do to handle crummy html, which is what crashes arachne.

the good news is that xml is coming, which they say is much
more straightforward, easier for webmasters to maintain and
upgrade, and with data sql capability html lacks. some will
no doubt shift from using mickysloth page tools, and then
if arachne can handle xml, it'll be useful again.
