No, it's not just you.  Many web sites are optimized for a specific browser
and if you don't use that browser you're going to do nothing on those sites.
 The browser specific optimization is also an accessibility failure.
Something I have to deal with everyday on the job.  That is a very basic
accessibility standard and isn't covered in Section 508 so far as I know.
For a site in these days to be or become Section 508 compliant is a major
accomplishment.
