John, Ian, et al,

See my remarks posted to the Life Raft edition of
this list.

When I spoke to some of the guys at the office about
the incident, nobody suggested that I should shut up,
get in my car, and discuss it with total strangers
down at the Red Cross.

I'm sure if someone drops "the bomb" on Pangoofistan
there will be a discussion group for that, but frankly
I'd rather discuss it with my friends. I know it's
off topic. John knows it's off topic (and indicated
that).

Just about every list of which I am a member has had
some discussion about this. Well, duh! It will only
impact every one of us in some degree. I would surely
not suggest that we should convert the list to a new
topic, but I'm inclined to cut our charter members
some slack.

Somebody just wiped out thousands of people and
disrupted business and communications here and in
most of the civilized world. For those who find this
an irritating distraction, feel free to hit delete.
I think it has something to do with me, and I choose
to pay attention.

All my best,
Garry Hamilton

John,

Im not going to rise to your jibe. The description of
this mailing list is "Older PC and DOS Internet Forum".
I dare say there's plenty of forums where you discuss
your countries problems but not here please.
