As I recall, battery testers typically have a 150 Ohm resistor in parallel
across the voltmeter.  Given that your computer probably draws less than a
few microamps for CMOS & Clock, if either shows adequate voltage, the
battery should be good for years.

One thing to watch, however: some older computers were designed to use
3.6 V NiCad batteries, or even 4.5 V dry cell batteries.
