Hi,

If your processor fan fails then you should be getting
errors especially when executing processor intensive
tasks, loading lots of programs, running games, etc.
Be careful because Cyrix processors produced large
amounts of heat so if your processor fan fails you
could end up damaging your processor.
The only way to check if the fan is working is to open
the computer case and boot it. If the fan moves it's
working, if doesn't move buy another fan.
If you are getting memory allocations problems it
could be many things :

A virus, the registry in windows is corrupted, etc.

I could also be a hardware problem, faulty memory
modules (or they could be not making a correct
connection, have you moved your computer lately?),
faulty fan, etc.

I would say the most common causes are a virus,
windows has gone bad, or faulty memory.

Good luck,

Inigo
