Well, JDR (jdr.com) says they have RAM for it for about $72 for 16MB. OK,
not exactly a bargain, but it is apparently out there if you really want it!
As to why it's so different, I have no idea. Apparently there are at least
two flavors of RAM for the 1100 series (EDO and FP), perhaps you need one or
the other? Which 1100 model is it? I only came across 8 and 16MB modules.
Perhaps 32 isn't the correct answer?

If you don't want to invest any more, or just don't have the patience for
searching the web for appropriate RAM, well then welcome to the world of the
"true" Surv-PC'er. There's still a lot you can do with 16MB of RAM, so I
wouldn't recommend trashing it. That's why this list exists! There are
plenty here who would love to have those sort of capabilities.

Of COURSE the pocket PC is more powerful. The lack of power is one of the
endearing characteristics of the old stuff. Nobody's going to try to tell
you that a 6 year old unit is going to run all the latest stuff as well as
modern hardware. They WILL tell you that it can still be made to do
much/most of what you really need it do, at least if you can live within its
constraints. Such a unit would make a great DOS, Win 3.1/95 or Linux system.
If you had in mind making it an XP beastie, well good luck!
