So you're a strong game player, how many nethack or omega victories? Omega
is easier provided you figure some things out. I suppose you can substitute
two pocket pc's for ping pong paddles, but their accessibility is highly
questionable. Haven't ever heard of any of them that ever had a screen
reader or speech synthesizer work on. You're right about linux with all of
its /etc and /var files to be edited, but I far prefer editing those files
to taking on the windows registry file with its plug ugly key structure. My
usb drive doesn't work with my linux installation since linux doesn't yet
know enough about it. No other reason, red hat 7.0 finds the drive and is
able to get it started it just doesn't know what to do with it after that.
However my logitech I feel mouse does work just fine on its usb port with
red hat 7.0. As things stand, I'll probably never have another computer in
my home with windows on it, the system is just too wimpy and unstable
especially with a windows 98se and office 2000 mismatch. Actually if you
think getting x to work on linux is any serious challenge, you want to try
getting the text flavor of linux talking. Then you'll learn what the true
meaning of challenging is. I've managed to get linux talking several times
but found getting x running on linux trivial. One thing that can cause
would-be x users problems is monitor settings if they use Xconfigurator
unless they know a bit of information. They can try Xconfigurator
--kickstart on the command line though that will probably fix some problems
with x. Other things that will help are: to install and use gnome since
it's most like that microsoft virus. Another thing is to run xrefresh
inside of x whenever the screen gets munged up.
