Hi, Gentlemen/Ladies, as applicable (I HATE "Political
Correctness", so I exaggerate it to mock it).

I've been a spectator, so to speak, on SURVPC for quite a while.
My "guru" gave me the address when I told him I was looking for
as much information as I could get for using my computers
without putting !@#$%^& Windows in my rigs. He gave me
this one, along with Nettamer and Pegasus, which latter I am
using in DOS version. Sometimes what I find is helpful,
sometimes not, and on some of the addresses, a lot of it's beyond
my understanding. However, I have been noticing lately that
there has been some conversation (I guess that's what it would be
called) concerning multiple OS's. I may not understand what is
being discussed, but I run MS-DOS, PC-DOS, (occasionally
W/3.11 if I can't do it yet in LINUX) and LINUX on my office
machine, which I'm using now. At home, my wife, who needs
W/98 for her client base, has access as well, and there we have
MS-DOS, PC-DOS and LINUX for me, W/98 and another MS-DOS for her, all running
compatibly with a selection menu at
boot-up. The program that accomplishes it with ease, once
installed, is called System Commander, by V-Communications.
The program has a so-called "Wizard" which usually solves the
problems with respect to the precise addresses of the OS's, but
their support is excellent, and they walked us easily through the
one problem we did encounter. Incidentally, this is all
accomplished with a single hard drive. Multiple hard drives
make multiplying OS's even simpler, but with us it wasn't
necessary.

My reason originally for getting System Commander had to do
with the incompatibility of ZIP drives and LS-120 drives. So
rather than try to do something complicated, I simply run the ZIP
drive (external) under DR-DOS, and the LS-120 (internal) under
MS-DOS.

There may be some reason that would make this suggestion
unacceptable, if so, bear with me, but I have never seen it
discussed on the Digest in the many months that I have been
reading the entries.

My best.

you are "hams".)
