Cite on the former, please. If it has a built-in SMTP client, why does it need Outlook? It looks through the Windows Address Book (nothing to do with Outlook, it's a part of Windows, and the APIs are published separately) and then looks through any .DBX files it can find for e-mail addresses (because Outlook Express keeps its messages in those).
