You dont havta. first off, if the list is small, it is NBD to list every name just as we see cross posted spam in the address list. When anyone replies, not only will you get a copy, but they will respond to that whole list of names just as well.
2nd, your browser should have a tool to create a user list, and you can forward that to anyone else who wants to be on the list. You dont really have much in the way of 'moderator' power, anyone who can get a copy of the list can email everyone on it. but if the users are knowledgeable people, they will also know how to block flamers. Using a hosting service will grant you more control to do that yourself, but then you and the list will run the risks of whatever that hosting service does with your names.
