Hey Paul,
Well, I read about it, and it does seem interesting. The problem as I
see it, in my situation anyway, is the cost...my computers are even
below "Pentium" levels, a couple of 386s, an 8086 (hehe, dual 5.25
floppy, CGA, 88 key keyboard) and a couple of 486s, maybe 3 if I get the
486SX put together. The web site did mention something about 486
upgrades, but I was using Arachne to surf thru, didn't get good results
on the "search" button. Anyway, the price for this upgrade board seems
a bit much, IMO, since you can pick up a complete AMD 5x86, even Celeron
or Pentium III based systems for less than around $400, probably less
if you just got the case/motherboard/CPU/RAM, and used an existing
monitor and keyboard. Anyway, it would be sorta fun to see if it really
did upgrade my 486s to what it claims!
