I'm not sure of the details, but I think I read somewhere that
there can be some problems involved, trying to install GIG+ HD's
on older machines, because they don't know how to manage the big
drives.

The only encounter I have had with this personally, is that when
I bought an old copy of Microsoft QuickC (a great platform, by
the way), I could not install it directly onto my laptop. The
install went fine on my old circa 1990 IBM, but on the 12 GIG
laptop, with 3+ empty GIG, I got an out-of-memory message,
showing I had -2b billion bytes free, which was not enough to
install.<g>

I just copied the installed setup onto a couple floppies, and
loaded it into the laptop, and was all set.

 to master yourself is something.
to master your computer is really something.
