Howard,
I run Win3X software all the time on Win95A (OSR1), no problems...except
for the rare occasion when Windows might know of a "32 bit version" being
available and make the suggestion to use it instead. Ususally, the
Installer will skip right through the Program Mangler (hehe) group
stuff...then you can make your own Start Menu shortcut. In fact, I have
found that 16 bit software runs better on Win95 than many of the 32 bit
counterparts! A couple I routinely use are NX for newsgroups, Navroad
HTML viewer, and Webford HTML Editor...I say go for it! FWIW---on my
machine, Program Mangler is still there, as is File Mangler, hehe...
but, if I run Program Mangler all the groups start out as tiny little
top bars of a window, with the name of the group, and the X-[] in the
righthand corner. Maximize this little bar and there's your icons!
