Hey, great article. I know people tend to think we computer types like
just about any gadget, but this line caught my eye: "Burgett said he was
recently offered an airliner and an aircraft carrier, but didn't have
the room to take it." Hmmm... SurvNavy anyone? Or howabout an airline:
SurvAir - "we fly the crap nobody else wants!" ?

Interesting though "big" distributions often get a bad rap on older
hardware, the article states: "All the machines are loaded with SuSe's
version of the free Linux operating system." I wonder how that works
with SuSE's licensing though? I can't imagine they'd try hassling him
like MS typically does regardless.

This articles definitely on-target. Thanks Paul.

Also linked on that page is Charities Say No to Obsolete Crap
(http://www.wired.com/news/culture/0,1284,49537,00.html), describing the
problems charities are having disposing of stuff that's donated, but
simply not usable. It explains WHY they don't necessarily want that old
286 that someone's trying to donate.
