This is probably a dumb question for anyone with experience with
sound and CD players but:

I inhereted a survpc, with an early 100Mz pentium and a cd player. I
installed a soundblaster card I got from a flea market for $2. The
card seems to work fine - it plays computer sounds and internet
radio, streaming audio, etc. - just fine.

But when I play a music CD in the cd player, the sound comes out
the microphone jack of the player fine. But it is not sent to the
sound card. None of the sound card's outputs gets the music data from
the CD.

What settings, variables, whatever do I change so that music from
the cd player is redirected to the soundcard?

Thanks and excuse the ignorance.
