Quattro Pro was actually much better than LOTUS of the same time
frame and faster at doing calculations since it was written in ASM.
A very good spreadsheet and totally LOTUS compatible as I recall.

"As Easy As" DOS spreadsheet and the lite version that runs on an XT are
both linked at my tech website listed in my signature.

I don't remember it this way but I wasn't recommending office suites
to the company I worked for at the time.  Everything was in transition
at that time and I wanted maximum flexibility to go where ever the
wind would blow in terms of computer hardware and software. :-)
