No Minix installs here. Way back when I found Linux first at version
0.94 or something like that. It required an image transfer of the
entire archive to a partition and I was concerned it might do harm
to my existing software. I found Minix after that but was told
_repeatedly_ that although Minix worked as you said there are few
apps for it. I could see no point in an OS that just sat there
allowing endless configuration changes. I know Linux users love
to re-configure, I'm not all that fond of it myself. ;-)

Limited number of knowledgeable hobbyists willing to code apps and many
were pulled away to Linux from Minix leaving Minix with less options.
I suspect this was a bad day for legacy SurvPC users. :-\

I'm interested. I may not always be in a position to attempt the same
installs but I am definitely interested. You may have noticed over the
years I'm the guy who gets beat up in the FIDO Linux echo for pointing
out that few there know how to do the minimal installs they insist are
possible. It's a reocurring theme for me there if I get annoyed and
mention it (every six months?).

FIDO habits - never change the subject line. I do it too. :-\
