Andy,
Another thing to try, in addition to increasing
the environment size, to at least "1024" is to
increase the "FILES", for Arachne it may be a
good idea to use FILES=50...somewhere in the
documentation for Arachne 1.71 UE01 I read a
snippet about that. Of course, until you can
get Arachne running, it doesn't matter how many
open files you allow. Best bet is to stay with
either SMARTDRV.EXE or NWCACHE, but not both.
Also, just a guess, but it may be wise to remove
whichever DOS you are not going to be using from
the "PATH" statement. Not critical, but it could
cause the OS to look in the wrong directory first.
