No, I'm still here.  I made some comments on the other
list because the server on this list seemed to be dead
(for the second time since Christmas).

BTW, since my last message, I've made an interesting
discovery which has changed my plans for BL2.  Just as
a experiment, I removed the 486 optimization from the
kernel to see if it has any effect on size (plus or minus).
I was surprised to find that it has a big effect.  The new
kernel is 13kb *smaller* than the 486 version.

So, I've been playing with the new kernel for the last few
hours, and it works really well:  fast booting with a small
footprint (in fact the footprint is actually smaller than
the old 2.0 kernel in BL1!).  That means the BL2 ramdisk
is going to work on systems with 8mb RAM. (hooray!).
