Are you looking for a wordstar-like editor for linux? There are several,
and I posted a summary for Day Brown to the list a couple of years ago.
The joe editor is very wordstar-like. I often us it for text formatting
(as opposed to config file editing) because of its nice centering and
re-wrap capabilities.
