You really must try BasicLinux sometime, George. Just unzip and go. No worries. Runs in a ramdisk, not on your HD. Includes the full bash shell, a basic set of libraries (including ncurses) and *two* editors: nano (a small pico clone) and e3. Normally, I would avoid such redundancy; however I was so impressed by the compact coding of e3 (6kb) that I added it to BasicLinux a couple of years ago.
