I have been using some software on my DOS systems for close to ten years
now; it's password security -- both as part of the autoexec.bat process
and for individual programs. Multiple Users, one or more SuperUsers,
simple "message at login" ability, logs, etc.
I must admit I do not have the newest version that works with DOS; but
5.0 has treated me well. And, if I do say so myself, the software is
user friendly while doing some things you wouldn't think possible in
237K of DOS software.
Name: Sentry 6.4
Cost: FREE -- Was shareware & registered, with extra ability to encrypt
passwords for registered only; now the "registered" version is
free -- with "owner" and "password" provided so you can have full
function at no cost.
Format: ZIP file 238,388 bytes
URL: http://cipherlogic.cdnarmy.ca/tools/sentry/download.html
l.d.
P.S. Remember to read the readme file first. <G>
P.P.S. There is a newer (last) version at the same URL for some
versions of Windows; but since last update was 1999 don't expect to find
XP as one of them. <BG>
