Hi everyone,

this is really off topic, but one never knows who may have a
company idea. In one of my other lives, I am a development
consultant working with nonprofit agencies that seek grants and
have special events or projects. One of these is Independence
Residences Inc, who provides residential and comprehensive
community services for individuals with development disabilities,
vision impairments and other challenges and their families. IRI
is one of the few agencies here in New York that serves
challenged individuals who are multi-handicapped, not only
working with families that wish to keep their loved-one at home,
but providing housing for those who seek independence, and the
training they need to maintain this independence. Very client
focused and gaol oriented, they do an amazing job with the people
that support.

I am looking for some computer systems for IRI, wanting at
least 25, and being tap-dancing happy if i can get 50 of them.
What would be too wonderful is if they were close to all the
same, coming from the same source and giving that source one heck
of a tax write off.

I am told they would be thrilled with low end pentium
systems, including the printers and modems etc. the whole thing
software on them, windows as the computer person working for IRI
is rather used to this, unless the structure is such that all
the systems work so beautifully together that it would not
matter, even windows 2000. He also mentioned something that I
have not heard of before a "trailor?" I mean I know what a
trailor is, just not in relation to computing.

Does anyone have an idea of a company, university, hospital,
or dealer who might be interested in getting rid of some systems?
If not a company in the business, one that is upgrading their
systems and have some to spare?
I am going to write to ibm, but would love an inside contact
there if possible. dell it seems does not do this kind of thing
outside of Texas, or gateway outside of Utah. Does hp anymore?
they used to do this, with our providing them with specific makes
and models, but I believe this too is geographically specific.
Any ideas off list if preferred will be most welcome.
thanks a lot,

Karen
